Director (and also Director of InterAct Networks
- see links)
Jeff trained originally, and practiced, as an architect. As his
interests broadened into planning, community development, ecology
and participation he went to teach and research first at Kingston
Polytechnic and then at the newly formed School for Advanced Urban
Studies at Bristol University.
Jeff was a joint founder of BDOR in 1987 and his workload has expanded
dramatically in terms of content (now adding management development,
environmental education, facilitation), in terms of the type and
size of project undertaken and in terms of the variety of clients
(now from all possible sectors).
Jeff is an accredited consultant to the National Planning Advisory
Service, an advisor to the Sustainable Development Commission, a
dialogue and engagement specialist on the government's Sciencewise
programme and a Masterclass tutor for the OECD.
In addition Jeff has been a Visiting Professor in the USA, a Visiting
Fellow in Australia and Sweden, a regular contributor to conferences
and journals and a member of several formal working groups. He also
works in Italy, developing participative environmental practice.
